Conventional wells tend to go dry in the month of May every summer. Farmers
plan harvesting pre monsoon cotton crops.. Such times it is always better to go
for drip irrigation either for pre seasonal or kharif cotton crops.
It is usually observed that farmers go
for loose irrigation method ( run way method) to water cotton crops. But such
methods are time consuming and cause severe water loss. In addition, weeds
create a menace.
In this connection, KVK Sagroli has conducted
a one day training program for farmers on 19th May. Farmers were
advised to adopt method of drip irrigation for cotton crops adoption of which
saves water as well as yields better production.
