Sujaya Foundation gives underprivileged and differently able children
and youth an opportunity and a platform
to launch them into dignified and bright future they deserve.
They bridge the digital and
linguistic divide through Education. Their volunteers teach underprivileged school-going children
Mathematics, Science, English and Computers; as also English and Computers to
underprivileged youth, giving them a much needed equal opportunity boost.
They also run an Experiential Learning Programme where students experience a work-like environment and then
try and aspire for employment in the BPO
industry.
Sujaya Foundation has developed Sujaya English Active Learning (SEAL) –
A digital learning platform that includes audio files, self learning and
monitored learning which integrates classroom learning and actual learning.
Sanskriti Samvardhan Mandal got in touch with Sujaya Foundation, Mumbai,
through the NASSCOM foundation. The SEAL programme was demonstrated at the
school by the Sujayas. On finding it highly effective in facilitating English
Language Learning to the young children from the rural background, the SSM
started implementing the project from the year 2013-14. Indeed, it proved
highly effective and practicable. The English teachers at the
A conference for all SEAL partners was held on April 28 and 29 2014 in
Deutsche bank, Goregaon. The entire event was conceptualized by Sujaya
Foundation and sponsored and hosted by DB. The 2 days included sessions on
teaching, special education etc for the teachers and fun workshops for the
students. Sujaya foundation along with its corporate
partner, Deutsche Bank, organized the first interactive English Speaking competition,
The SEAL Premiere League (SPL). Eight teams from Sangli, Nanded and Mumbai
participated in the competition. The team from Chembur secured the first
place followed by the team from Nanded in second place. Students were awarded
by DB officials and film actor Varun Dhawan.
The entire program was a huge success and all the participants had a
good time.
